How did your business come to be?

My small business started off as a Hobby thing. I was pregnant and bored and thought it would be great to learn how to sew since it had been something I dreamt of doing since I was in elementary school. I started off making simple things and posting them on my Facebook page, which led to requests to do custom orders than I made a page to show off my stuff and one thing led to another. Im still fairly hobby but leaning more towards making this a full time thing.

What motivates you and your team to come to work everyday?

My 2 children are my motivation and alarm. We start the day off usually with arts and crafts in my sewing room/dining room. Luckily I am a stay at home mom, so my office and studio are located on our main floor. I like being my own boss and making my own hours.

Why do you feel your customers buy from you?

I believe my customers buy off of me because they will get great quality items and I just happen to be great at customer service.

Why do you feel ‘buying local’ is important?

Buying Local to me is the big picture. 100 years ago they had no choice but to buy local…. so why does it have to change when we still have the same resources. People just need to learn how to work their butts off again and to stop buying from big stores like Walmart and Starbucks. Its a tough transition but its doable. I even buy Local roasted and ground coffee from the mainland.

A quote that is dear to you, one that resonates with you and your business…

“I dont hate you, I treat you the way I do because I know you can be better” – Said to me by my boss when I was 16 because I feared she hated me but she just had faith in me that I could be amazing. These words have made a tonne of sense to me over the years and I now know how to help others strive to reach bigger goals.

Anything you want to add?

When you purchase from a WAHM ( work at home mom ) your helping put food on their table and a roof over their family’s heads…instead of gas in a jet.
