I think I have the “sewing gene”. My mother and grandmother both were seamstresses. I have always loved fabrics – their textures, colours – and the way they can be mixed and matched and manipulated and sewn into a beautiful and unique and possibly useful creation. I was a teacher for 27 years and struggled to find time to sew, so, when I retired several years ago I took up sewing with a passion. Local craft markets around the area provided me with a venue for selling my wares. I am pleased to be taking part in the ThrivingLocally enterprise as it provides an outlet for marketing my products to a broader local market at a reasonable cost.
